What a night.
In front of their fans in the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington D.C., the Washington Mystics celebrated their first WNBA Championship in franchise history. With a decisive 89-78 triumph in the 5th and final series game over the Connecticut Sun, the Mystics added their flag to the ‘District of Champions’ Hall of Recent Awesomeness.
Elena Delle Donne scored 21 points to augment mate Emma Meesseman’s tallied 22 on the night. Delle Donne secured the honor of MVP of the WNBA Finals in 2019, justifying the hype surrounding her already storybook career.
